Their son was named Hans Christian Thomsen Godt, and he was baptized on the 7th of December 1704, and was buried on the 14th of November 1751. He was married for the first time on the 24th of September 1734  to Anne Hedvig, who died two years later. There is no trace of any children from this marriage. Hans married again on the 28th of June 1737, in Rinkenaes, to Anne Hans
datter. She was born about 1710 in Lundloft in the parish of Klipier. Her father was a farmer named Hans Lorentzen and her mother was named Ingeborg. After Hans Christian Thomsen Godt died, his wife remarried on the 19th of October 1752. Her new husband was named Thomas Jorgensen, who was also known as Thomas Jorgensen Godt (perhaps he was brother to Thomas Hansen Godt). Anne died in Rinkenaes on the 15th of February 1780 at the age of 70. Thomas Jorgensen Godt had died in 1768. On the death of his mother and step-father, the farm was taken over by the son of the first marriage, Hans Hansen Godt.

Hans Hansen Godt was baptized in the church in Rinkenaes on the 10th of November 1743. He married for the first time in the church of Sottrup, also in the area of Rinkenaes, on the 25th of October 1771 to Trinneke Jorgensdatter. Trinneke, which means 'little Cathrin', was born about 1742 at Snogbaek in the parish of Sottrup. Her father was a farmer named Jorgen Iversen, and her mother was Maria Lauridsdatter. Trinneke died at Rinkenaes on the 11th of June 1782, aged 40 years and 9 months. During their marriage they had three sons. The eldest, Hans Christian Godt, succeeded them on the farm. He in turn was succeeded by his cousin, Christian Anderson Godt (1773-1838). He in turn was succeeded by a son named Neils Andreas Hinrichsen Godt (1819-1881). Hans Hansen Godt remarried after the death of his fist wife Trinneke. He married Mette Kirstine Hye on the 27th of June 1783. They had no children. Hans Hansen Godt died in Rinkenaes on the 7th of April 1793. Mette then married Iver Iversen in 1796, who managed the farm until it was taken over by Hans Christian Godt, the eldest son from Hans Hansen Godt's first marriage.

Hans Christian Godt's eldest son from his second marriage, Berthel Petersen Godt, (1818-1885) studied theology and later became a vicar in a number of parishes. His first parish was Rinkenaes from 1842-1849. As the years went by, he became the most famous member of the family as Bishop of Slesvig from 1864 until 1885. This Bishop was not in the direct line of my family but was a very interesting sideline to follow.

The third son of Hans Hansen Godt and his wife Trinneke was Thomas Hansen Godt. Thomas was born in Rinkenaes on the 4th of June 1778. He became a farmer in the village of Norballe in the parish of Felsted. He married Sinnet Tagmoes on the 16th of July 1796 in Feldsted. Sinnet was born on the 12th of August 1769 at Stubbaek Beach in the parish of Enstead. She was the daughter of a laborer (Hans Asmussen Tagmoes). He was married to Anne Cathrine Nisdatter. It was soon after the birth of their eldest son, Hans Peder Godt on the 31st of January 1799, that the family began to move from farm to farm. During the following years they worked their way up to owning their own great estate.

They first left North Slesvig for Northern Jutland. From 1801 to 1804 Thomas Hansen Godt was a tenant farmer on a farm called Kolding. Then, as a forpagter-tenant (foreman) in 1808 to 1812 he worked on an estate in the western part of North Jutland called Lonborggaard in the parish of Loborg in the county of Ringkobing. After hard work and saving his money, in 1813 he bought his first estate called Strumstrup in the parish of Saadding, also in Ringkobing. Then, just 5 years later in 1818 he bought another estate called Kjeldkaer in the parish of Bredsren in the county of Vejle, east of the city of Vejle. He owned the two estates, but preferred Kjeldkaer and it was near Vejle he died on the 19th of July 1825, and his wife Sinnet died on the 27th of March 1839.
